1892 William Lyons-Wilson born in Leeds
1914 Although painting before this date, a picture of his mother is the first one of note and is in the family collection.
1914 Joined the First Riding Field Ambulance and served in England and France.
1917 Discharged from the army in Manchester and returned to Leeds.
1918 Leeds Art Club agreed to give L-W an exhibition at short notice
1919 Married Violet E Piper in Leeds on Primrose day
1920 Settled at Toby Cottage in Carperby
1923 Moved to Bainbridge in Wensleydale
1926 Awarded the bronze medal by the Panton Club. Exhibited at the Royal Academy. The well known picture 'Ice Bardale' was reproduced in The Studio.
1928 Joined the staff of Sedbergh School
1933 Exhibition at Ryman's Gallerys, Oxford
1938 Left Sedbergh School to take up an appointment at Blundell's School, Tiverton. This combined with a similar appointment at Kings College Taunton.
